Bases de calcul

Bonjour,

Pi_part_manufacturing and Pi-induced factors

Hi,
In the FIDES guide (page 32), the data entry are:
* Environments and uses condtions of the product
* Definition of the product
* Life cycle of the product
* Suppliers of the articles used in the product

My question is : is it obligatory to get these four data entry to calculate the failure rate of a component or the first two data are sufficient ?

Other subject :
My 2nd question is : which is the influence of "Pi_part_manufacturing" factor on the whole failure rate ? Because I don′t see his role ?

GUIDE FIDES

Bonjour,

Merci,

Anis.

Calendar time

Hello, I′m new, couldn′t find an answer to my very basic question, so I place it here. Am I right in thinking that FIDES calculates MTBF in units of calendar hours rather than the operating hours defined in the phase(s) of a mission profile? If so, and if I want an MTBF in operating hours, I presumably need to multiply the reported MTBF by operating hours/8760 (assuming my mission profile has that total), right?

Fides and IEC

Fides is proposed by the TC47 (Semiconductor devices Technical Committee) as a future IEC document.

Under the reference 47/1911A/DC and the title "Reliability engineering in electronics", this DC (Document for Comments) is available on the IEC website (www.iec.ch) for the national experts or through your IEC National Committee. Its content is quite similar to the Fides guide proposed here.

Any comment through this forum is welcome. The dead line is 29 June 2007.
